Showin love to Nate the Nurse

Dj Nay Nate, Or Nate. From Oakland, CA. went to Hillview jr HIgh with me. Went to Pittsburg Highschool with me. Now we both live in Brentwood. In highschool. Nate always had the latest music from local to coastal rappers. He kept me laced with mixed cd's that got heavy rotation in my cd deck. He also held down the PIttsburg High Basketball team like Batman with two utility belts. Well now Nate will be in school to hold down the lives of the masses as a nurse. I just wanted to show some love to my dude on the move. Go Pirates.

Congrats to all the seinors who graduated

Congrats Brock Campbell. Brock is a dear friend of mine from Cherokee Iowa. I dont know why he doesnt rep his city like its cool so whenever i get the chance i help him out in the reppage. You can always count on brock to show up in a fresh Tee and shoes. He makes being cool look so effortless as we would make sure the wall in the 9 stayed up. He wore NUmber 10 and played free safety for the Jackrabbit Defense. I remeber the days that Brock played reciever and i played cornerback as a scout my first year. Lol Brock had two hands. Lets just leave it at that. Go Jacks.

Chop Suey, Stewy

Yea, i did it. IT feels great...i cut my hair. Now i can go swimming without having to dry for hours. Now i can lay my head on my pillow and feel my pillow for once. I can finally feel water or wind hit my scalp. I can scratch my head when im trying to figure something out. My head actually sweats. Befor the sweat would get cought up in my dreads before it would reach my neck or face. I will have to downsize in football helmet size. Im getting used to brusing my hair. Im still getting used to the new look but i like it. Change is good. Go Jacks.

These dudes go hard.

This makes me wanna dust off the old Huffy and try some new tricks lol.

Twitter, or not?

There has been alot of fuss about this new social medium called Twitter. Twitter is hard to explain at times but my simplest explanation is that "its a facebook status without facebook." What i mean is that Twitter is something that you can easily access and update. People simply use it to let the world know what they are doing or how they are feeling at that particular moment. For instance: if i was a famous book writer and had a book signing in San Diego i would simply update my Twitter saying, "I have a book signing at 2 today at Borders in San Diego, come show some love." Or i could say that i have a red eye flight to New York in ten minutes. Is it creepy? i would have to disagree because the only people that can see your Twitter updates are the people who "Follow" you. Following you means that they have subscribed to your twitter updates. At the moment i do have a Twitter account and a username but i dont use it because i dont have a smart phone at the moment and i dont want to sign on to Twitter everytime i want to update it. Its entertaining to me because alot of famous entertainers are on it and it is interesting to see what they update their Twitters with. So for now i keep my distance but i have a feeling that Twitter will start to take off and more and more people will join the hype.

Whats on the I-pod

The 13+ hours of bus ride this weekend called for some heavy I-pod usage. What i found myself listening to alot is the new mixtape by Mike Posner called "A matter of time." He is from a suburb of Detroit and is also a producer. I recognized him from Big Seans mixtape who is also a Detroit rapper that is signed with Kanye West. Mike is a singer but when you listen to his music it doesnt sound R&b at all. Its some quality listening with a smooth feel to it. Its not full of swag or explicit content so its easy on the ears. If you are looking for something fresh to bump on th I-pod feel free to check him out. Listen link.

Back in my bag.

Over the weekend from Friday to Sunday night i went to the western part of South Dakota on the MAD (make a difference) tour. Every spring, the football team usually goes to Sioux Falls to scrimmage, put on a childrens clinic and visit several hospitals. This year we went to the other side of the state. The bus ride was 6.5 hours..ugh..we stayed on the Army Reserve base in barracks. They weren't as bad as i thought they were gonna be. We scrimmaged on a damp natural grass field early in the morning and once we were done with that we put kids through drills and such...fun time. We went to Mt. Rushmore and Wall Drug on the way back. I thought the presidents would be bigger but o' well. Wall drug was really confusing. I didnt know the concept or purpose behind all of the hype?? Overall it was a legit trip if you take away the lack of meals and free time. Now its back to school and back to makin videos and bloggin.

Smokey back at it.

Lol poor TV1. I can respect their concept by wanting to be the "Legit" black entertainment channel in stead of BET. BET is ridiculous. I only used to watch it because of the music videos but now they are weak and i can just go on the Internet and check them out. 106 and Park is weak. They took Rap City off with big tigger. So its pretty much pointless. And plus they dont even have BET out here in South Dakota. Ha. Respect.

Support your troops, even if you dont support the war.

lol they all have the same digital camera. Respect the Digi.

ShamWow guy gets Shambusted.

I watch a decent amount of television and as soon as i seen the pic of this guy i knew who he was. Its the ShamWow guy, the Shamwow does everything an ordinary rag or towel doesnt do. The commercial leaves me speechless everytime by the way the Shamwow sucks all of the coke out of the carpet, just by a roll over the surface. Wow, i want one so Sham-bad. But the poor guy probably want to release some ShamTension and picked up a hooker. Mr Sham said that the hooker bit his tounge and wouldnt let it go. So he beat the SHAM out of her and got arrested for it. Go ShamJacks.

Jordans dropping this year

Ive never had a pair of Jordans and don't really believe in the concept behind the high prices and supply of the sneaker but these J's are a fly shoe. I dont even know what number they are or what year they originally came out but they are pretty sweet. Go Jacks.

EV-o RR Electric Motorcycle

Evo design solutions is coming out with this bike at around $28,000 dollars. It can get from 0-60mph in about 4 seconds which can compare to some of the gas powered bikes. Usually electric vehicles have more maintenance problems than their gas powered buddies but this design is pretty sweet.

LIL' Alfie beat the 18yr sentance.

The 13 year old Alfie is officially not the father of the baby girl. The DNA proved it. A half dozen other boys have claimed to have slept with the girl. I dont know why they would admit it?? She is so weak! But im happy for my boy Alfie who beat the sentance of 18 years of civility with that silly slut. Go jacks.

Apartment crawl 09'

Apartment Crawl 09' was one of the ages. We had the usual suspects in attendance (thomas, jimmy, glen, domino, jeske, cole sikes brodie, woody, britt) and it was a day to remember. We had jamaican music pumping, shopping carts, camping chairs, ice coolers and the grill. Jeske grilled six checken breasts, jimmy had some tasty brats, and my car got his oil changed at wal mart. I played my first game of water-pong (non-alcoholic beer pong). Cole and i were wet. literally. It was suprisingly sunny enough to take off the shirt and get some sun rays. Good times in the brook. Go jacks. Apartment crawl 2010 coming soon.

Another Bring it On?

Come on now...im not sure that the other 3 Bring it On's were too entertaining and now they are hitting us with another one? Dont get me wrong, attractive cheerleaders can make some entertaining materail but the story lines are so shallow. I will probably end up seeing it on the disney channel like i do the rest of them when i am bored and there is nothing else to watch.

President Obama and his 2009 March Madness bracket.

Hey its cool right?? Our President (during a recession) can take a little time to make college basketball picks. He has the toughest job in America and deserves some fun time right? Or is it bad that we have men and women fighting overseas and he can devout some time to something so frivilous? Should he worry about our country or collegiate basketball? Go jacks.

Myspace is becoming obsolete

Back in my senior year of high school my girl Erika convinced me to make a MySpace. So i did. It was fun. Everybody was on it at the time. It was my first experience with a social networking site and i was feeling it. I had girls adding me, commenting on my pics, messaging me. It was too easy i thought lol. The traffic on my page kept increasing the more i was on it. I found myself spending more time on the computer that year than the countless hours on AOL chatting with people in middle school. Fun Time also :) But myspace was fun and to the point. I didnt have to go to the mall or parties just to get numbers from attractive women. I could copy and paste the same message to 11 different girls and see which one takes the bait or not lol.
Than myspace got old one day. I got tired of waiting for a persons page to load if they had a glittery animated background with tons of pictures on their main page. I would get annoyed whenever a song started playing on their main page and it took 10 seconds just to find the media player to turn that song off. Than people started to hack pages??? I would click someones pics and it would direct me to a whole other page that asked me what color the sky was and i would win 10 trillion dollars if i answered correctly. And 4 years later everytime i log on i have a new friend request from some super hottie that wants to web chat??
Myspace was cool until it got Un-cool. Tom should step his game up like yesterday or else im deleting my myspace account. Go Jacks.

Well...everybody...spring break is over for me. .Im actually kinda happy its over. Wierd. Im back in the computer lab working on homework. The lab was open all week and ive been in the Brook all week but just took advantage of the free time. I didnt do any posts over the break but be sure that ill be back in my bag for this week. Spring Break!!!

Spring break is finally here. Long awaited. Well overdue. There is nothing like getting a smooth week off of school especially when the weather is starting to lighten up a bit. Everybody seems to be excited to be going somewhere really fun like Cancun, South Padre, Home sweet Home, Canada, Arizona, San Diego, Texas. But i haven't heard once that people are going to be staying in Brookings South Dakota. Hmmm. Well that is where i will be. The usual crew and i are sticking to our guns and sticking this years spring break out right here in the Brook.
Im sure it will be snowing out here while everybody else will be laying on the beach working on their base tans and we will be shoveling our cars out. All the breakers will need is a skimpy bathing suit and we will be dressed like hazardous material workers. Its cool though. The brook is the place to be. And we will show the world. Go Jacks.

Wanna know if your infant is gonna be good at sports?

You can pay $150.00 to get your baby tested to see if he/she will excell at sports. Swab the inside of your baby's mouth and send the Q-tips to a company in Boulder, Colorado and wait to see if you will need to save for a college fund or not. The company tests for a DNA strand called ACTN3, which can predict certain athletic skills, some experts believe. The results say if the child will be good at strength sports of endurance sports.

Everybody wants their son to be the next LeBron James. What if his DNA says otherwise? Will a parent be mad about it? Will a coach who knows the results of chilren play the child with the better DNA? If a coach had to pick one child out of two, would he pick the one with the better results? Will children sports be even more out of control with the knowledge of the tests?

Shootin stuff on a Saturday

Here's a pic of me and the usual suspects out on our hunting excursion. It was about -1 degrees outside and my fingers and toes were numb. Fun time. We shot clay ducks. They looked like clay mini pots. I dont know how they got ducks out of clay orange pots. Cool. Cole Brodie had on a Blue Russell sweater. Jim had on his dads jacket. Thomas had on some offocial gear. I had on the usual with an extralayer. Domino (fresh d) had a automatic gun. It was pretty cool. Woody's gun made my ears ring. Out of the city boys (me, jim, thomas), jim was probably the best shot. I couldnt hit those dang orange circular ducks if they sat on the end of the barrell.

Bang Bang. Ill hit you with a video soon from the trip. Go Jacks.

NBA is getting a piece of the bailout pie?

The National Basketball Association is set to borrow 175 million dollars because some of the teams have been struggleing in thie weak economy. Half of the 30 teams in the NBA said they are in need of the money because of Operating losses. The bailout will come with an interest rate around 8 percent.
At first thought i would think that they could cut back a little on every players salary but than i think again and that isnt an option. The NBA salary has to be recession proof. If Lebron James and was put on a Derek Fisher salary than Lebron James would probably not try as hard to entertain people with his high-flying dunks and antics. He would probably play like a Derek Fisher. Not a fun sight. Big buckets=Big bucks. I say they cut back on the amount of teams that go to the playoffs. The less amount of games, the more of a solid fan base. The stronger a fan base, more money from advertisments. Go Jacks

Man wins a 12-hour-sex-session wager...than dies

A man in Russia made a bet that he could please these two women for half a day. So he took a whole bottle of Viagra. The wager was $4300 dollars. He won the bet than died minutes after. Ouch.

Japanese Rape game?

A video game in Japan that is based on raping women and children has been released. You score points for stalking and raping people!!!! LOL what is the world coming to? i thought Grand Theft Auto was bad when you can do a drive by or light some pedestrian on fire. But this???? I wonder what type of people actually play this game? Is it a game to be played with your kids or in a group setting lol? Good stuff, Go Jacks.

Jamaica bans sexual and criminal songs from radio play.

Jamaica has just implemented a ban on songs with sexually suggestive lyrics along with content about high crimes. Under the new regulation, all music with lyrics detailing murder, arson, rape, and gun violence cannot be heard over Jamaica's TV and radio broadcast systems. The new dancehall trend in Jamaica is called Daggering, it simulates sexual intercourse on the dance floor and this is that target of the ban. This will peobably hurt 90% of their rappers because those are two topics that any and every rapper talks about. Lol if something like this was implemented in America than we wouldnt have any more rap. Ouch!!

Monday, February 16, 2009

I thought this was pretty funny.

Dont you just hate when people cant park????

Mabie not the father????

13 year old Alfie may not be the father of the little guy. Word on the street is that the girl slept with two other guys (kids) around nine months before the baby was born. I guess being promiscuous doesnt have an age limit. Ill keep you posted on who is or isnt the father.

Casino night

I volunteered to help out at Casino night in Caldwell hall on Friday night and it was a good experience. Now i can respect the dealer. Im not sure how much they get paid or if they get benefits or hours or anything but i know that it is somewhat stressful to keep the game and the players under control. First it helps to know all of the rules and not the basic ones that i knew. Second is to be able to count and count quickly. Third is to not get emotionally attached to the game. Im a competitive person and i was enjoying taking all of their fake chips. I felt good about myself but than i realized that the dealer always wins and my bubble was busted. It started off rocky with the rule differences and trying to count too fast. At the end i was somewhat a pro dealer and i should be put on payroll somewhere.

Whats on the I-pod

Drake (Drizzy) is from Ontario Canada. Signed with Lil' Waynes Young Money Entertainment. Has been on the Canadian well renound childrens show, "Degrassi". He has Been called the "New version of Fresh Prince." I first heard his song with Colin Munroe called "Cannonball". I heard him on some of Lil' Waynes tracks and listened to some of his mixtapes. Drakes lyricism is strong. Wordplay is nice and he does the singing/rapping thing well. "So Far Gone" is his latest mixtape that came out on Friday morning and it is one that doesnt get old as you listen through it. Drake has a likeable flowstyle with bars that are easy on the ears. I wouldnt label him as a hipster or a backpack rapper but somewhat of a less conscious, conscious swagger driven rapper. He has apperances from the likes of Weezy, Bun-B, Trey songz, Santogold and A couple Canadian artists. He holds his own on the mixtape and doesnt really need to have the features. I felt that some of these tracks that were only one or two versus long could have been filled and used for a single or for a LP track. Drake is in heavy rotation in my I-pod so feel free to check him out. Listen link.

Shaq and Kobe

Ever since the split of Shaq and Kobe i have been on the Kobe side of things. Ive always felt that Kobe was a better basketball player and that Shaq was just a strong, quick, big guy who has refined his post and dancing skills. All of Shaq's off the court antics like becoming a sherrif, his diss freestyle about Kobe, his interviews full of one-word answers were all getting old and tired to me. I felt that Shaq just wanted attention because he knew that Kobe was still on an incline and Shaqs skills were declining. Kobe has been and always will be a beast on the court. Shaq was dominant and still is somewhat dominant on a slowed-down paced Phoenix Suns team. This all-star game named Shaq and Kobe as the Co-Mvp's. Shaq said that Kobe should have outright won it and i feel the same way. I personally feel that they gave it to both of them because it was a sweet reunion with shaq-kobe-phil jackson, the game was in phoenix, and Shaq opened the game with a stunning performance with the Jabbawockeez. It seems that they have put their differences aside and things are going smoothly between the two superstars. So Shaq is A-ok in my book. GO Warriors.

13yr old baby daddy!!

A boy who is 13 years old and looks as if he is alot younger than that impregnated a 15 year old girl and had a healthy baby. The boy said that he will do his best to help support the baby physically and financially. He was scared to tell his mom because he knew that she would get mad at him. When i was 13 i thought girls were still somewhat foreign and i wasnt too sure where babys came from also.

My choice of writing instrument

As a youngster i used to notice that not everybody wrote with the same pen. Some men had thick pens, some had slim shiny ones, some preferred the cheap but efficient ones. It wasnt until two years ago when i started to collect random writing utensils that i found a pen that i couldnt let go of. I would pick up pens from the ground, take from vacant desks and occasionally i would take from an establisment if the pen looked appealing. After a couple months of pen scrapbooking i had a nice-sizeed pocket full to the brim with pens. But the Pilot G2 was the pen that i couldnt put down. I would use the black one until it was done and look for another. None of the other pens were able to stick with me. Now i just buy a fresh, crispy pack the Pilot G2 whenever i need pens. Whenever im in between classes or just not using the G2 it stays clipped to my collar for easy access. I never really thought i would becaome a man with a specific pen but i guess i never thought that i would be going to school in South Dakota.

Human Trafficking?

Human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world. I watched the movie Taken and its main plot was based around the kidnapping of a teenage girl who was one of many who were being illegally trafficked. I was aware of criminals selling foreign immigrants to entities in America for profit. I never thought of how bad it was until i watched the movie. It is a several billion dollar industry. The reasons for the victims range from religious cults to forced prostitution to trafficking for early marriage. Abduction is the easiest way to traffic someone. The criminals use fniancial leverage, debt bondage and treats to get the abductees to work for them. The movies depicted the captors drugging the girls to an almost unconscious state and soliciting them as prostitutes. According to US State Department data, an "estimated 600,000 to 820,000 men, women, and children [are] trafficked across international borders each year, approximately 70 percent are women and girls and up to 50 percent are minors. The main reason for trafficking people is for free or extremely cheap labor. The movie sparked an interest in this subject. Its not a fun topic but i figured i would share this with you since i looked into it a little deeper than the movie.

Step your TV set game up. Or not.

Digital Television Transition is to Take Place February 17, 2009. Dont be worried about it, this does NOT mean that you have to go out and buy a brand new HDTV to watch basic television. Although the HDTV companies are making money off of people thinking that they do have to purchase a new HDTV. All the transition means is that the old television that is covered in duest in the attick with the rabbit ears and click dial wont work. They are switchin from an analog signal to a digital feed.

2008-09 Football Banquet

The banquet wasn't too long this yer. The highlight tape was somewhat lengthy. Food was good (ravioli) and everybody looked their best. Go Jacks.

Grammy Awards 09.

If you didn't watch the 09' Grammys you didn't miss too much. I wasn't sure who the official host was and it seems that the best part of the Grammys was the parties the night before the actual show. T-pain wore a top hat, Lil' Wayne was sober for once, Stevie Wonder was apart of a couple performances as usual , Jay-Z wasn't sitting next to Beyonce, Ne-yo brought a girl to prove he is not gay, Kanye rocked a shag haircut, everybody won a lifetime acheivement award it seemed and foreign artists were getting alot of love. Jennifer Hudson performed for the first time since her family incident and killed it. Jigga, Wayne, Ye' and TIP performed "Swagger like us" all at the same time for the first time and murdered it. Thats all i can pretty much remember from the awards show. Hopefully next year we can get some more American artists to show up and mabie a song with someone featuring Lil' Wayne.

Class monologue

Rendering a video can be nerve racking at times. I haven't quite grasped the concept of why we need to render each and every clip of our movie. I feel that if i can see the clip, than the clip is fine to work with. This project was tougher than the previous project because more cutting and pasting clips was involved. The text on the screen was the easiest part but it still caused problems when i was trying to put the text over the footage. Overall it was a good project that showed me more efficient ways to make a video clip.

Hannah Montana trippin?

Actor/singer Miley Cyrus was seen in this photo pulling her eyes into a slanted position. This is offensive to people from an Asian background. She released a statement on her fan site saying that she was just trying to make a funny face. She said she wasnt tryin to be racist at all or trying to make fun of anything. Lol i wonder if the Asian guy sitting next to her thought it was funny or not.

Its supposed to get warmer this week.

Weather out here in Brookings SD is pretty chilly (forecast). Last week we had a couple days of double-digit below zero temps. This week we start off in the single digits and we end in the twenties. The interesting feel of the negatives is that freezing of your mustache hair when you exhale or the frozen dreads after a good, sweaty workout. Warming the car up is a chore. I have to run outside ten minutes before i even think about leaving just to start my car and get the heater going so the scraping of the ice on my windows isnt too tough. Everyone talks about how fun snow is and i feel the same way sometimes but the snow i'snt all too fun when you live in it.

The new G.I. Joe

August eighth is the day one of my favorite cartoons is bringing us a movie. I hope that it is done right and not done like some of the other comic book re-makes that have failed to please their devoted fans.

Our first time editing a video was a fun time. We learned how to take the footage from our camera and edit it into video form. The tricky part was figuring out how to finally compress the file and make it read to be uploaded onto our blog site. This will be very instrumental in making more and better videos to put on my blog.
The skills that i have learned will be put to good use. Although i dont have the software on my personal computer i will still keep the video blogs coming.

HOW WE ROLL

The CR-Dubb

Common/uncommon names related with crime

I read this article on FOX News about how boys that have a more common name like Michael are less likely to commin a crime than boys with the name of Ivan. Their studies show that the PNI (popularity name index) for Michael is 100 which is the most frequently given name and Malcolm has the PNI of 1. Regardless of race the boys with the least popular names are more likely to commit a crime. The least popular names were associated with juvenile deliquency among black and whites. They say kids with uncommon names are usually treated differently by peers which makes it harder to form relationships. Good thing i have a commmon name.

Whats on the i-pod

After the month of December i downloaded the Month of Maddness by Freeway. What the Month of Maddness is about is everyday Freeway put out a song everyday in the month of December. Freeway was already one of my favorite rappers and when he announced he was going to do the M.O.M. i thought it was a good idea to have more material from the rapper. 31 tracks along with a bonus track all came on the album and i feel that they all are solid tracks. Ive never heard of a rapper that did or could do such a thing so i thought it was cool. So for the last couple days ive been re-visitiing the month of maddness on my i-pod.
